I WANTED to see you! Vol.1 Mr. Bobby Valentine

That was a hot and humid Friday afternoon. I was on my way home, and got on Sobu-line train at Makuhari. However, when one guy whose face was very, very familiar to me got on the same carriage as me at Makuhari-Hongo, the usual and boring ride was completely turned into the most exciting one. Yes, the guy was Mr. Bobby Valentine! I am sure I do not have to tell you who he is. I mean, where do most of KUIS students live? You MUST know him if you live in Chiba! Anyway, when he noticed that I was staring at him, he smiled and said, “Konnichiwa!” I could felt that my hands and legs were shaking because of the excitement! “Valentine Kantoku” was right there, in front of me! I was to get off at Higashi-Funabashi, so that meant I did not have much time left if I wanted to “get closer” to him. I hesitated at first, but I stood up and went to him. He still smiled.

“Excuse me, but are you…”

When I was about to finish the question, he nodded.

“Yes, I am Bobby Valentine. Koko dozo! (Please sit here)”

I could not believe that he offered me his next seat!

“Can you shake hands with me?”

That was the only thing that I could ask him. He kindly shook hands with me (for three-four times!), and told me that he was very happy when someone talked to him. He even asked me if I was O.K. when he noticed that my hands were shaking!

When I got off the train, he smiled again. That was a really beautiful smile.

Actually, I thought Mr. Valentine’s friendly actions were all “performances” for his job before I met him. He seemed nice, but I just doubt if he was such a lovely person in his private life. However, he WAS a nice and lovely person. I could feel that he really cared Marines’ fan, including “possible” fans. I was really impressed.

If there is anyone who has met him, please share your experience with me!
